Integrating Gender Considerations in National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans: Pilot Project Process and Initial Considerations
This note provides an overview of a pilot project undertaken in 2016 to build the capacity of developing country Parties
to integrate gender into their revised national biodiversity strategies and action plans (NBSAPs). This project has been implemented by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), under the framework of the CBD 2015-2020 Gender Plan of Action. This note focuses on three pilot country initiatives carried out in Mexico, Uganda and Brazil, outlining the approach undertaken, initial outcomes and considerations of relevance for developing country Parties.
