GLA and gender webinar: Gender and environment 101
This webinar was held on 18 June, 2018
The Green Livelihoods Alliance (GLA) works towards sustainable and inclusive governance of forested landscapes in nine focus countries in South America, Africa and Southeast Asia. The GLA prioritizes the inclusion of disadvantaged groups in capacity building and the development, decision-making and implementation of lobby and advocacy strategies. As such, gender considerations are an essential part of GLA’s inclusive approach, and consequently, in the success of the GLA Programme.
This webinar is the first of two gender webinars facilitated by IUCN GGO for the GLA Programme. The Gender and Environment 101 webinar features a presentation by Lorena Aguilar, Global Senior Gender Adviser at IUCN, which establishes critical linkages between gender and the environment and indicates the added value of gender mainstreaming in programming.
