The impact of climate change and weather-related disasters on gender-based violence survivors and the increase of intimate partner violence in the aftermath of these events is clear. This article provides examples from the United States and Australia, including findings from IUCN publication “Gender-based violence and environment linkages: The violence of inequality”. The author highlights policy gaps in the United States and calls for gender and environment programmatic and policy and actions.
