The present report of the Secretary General for the 66th meeting of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW66) provides an examination of the challenges of and opportunities for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls in the context of climate change, environmental and disaster risk reduction policies and programmes towards the full, effective and accelerated implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and the gender-responsive implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (General Assembly resolution 70/1), and concludes with recommendations for consideration by the Commission on the Status of Women.
