The Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Environments (RISE) grants challenge is the first-ever funding mechanism addressing gender-based violence and environment linkages. Created by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in 2019, it was successfully implemented between 2019-2022 through USAID Catalyst Project. This report shares the impact and lessons learnt of the nine RISE grants challenge projects, which successfully increased awareness of the link between GBV and environmental degradation, enhanced the capacity of communities they serve to address both in an integrated manner, and achieved positive gender-based violence prevention and response outcomes.
