This toolkit provides practical, how-to guidance for agriculture and market systems development project technical staff and gender and social inclusion advisors on how to address GBV within the context of day-to-day agriculture programming. It provides a knowledge base on how and where GBV manifests in the context of agriculture and entry points to integrate GBV prevention, mitigation, and response into project activities. While focusing on agriculture, this toolkit can be very informative for environmental practitioners interested in addressing gender-based violence as part of their environmental programming.
This toolkit has been pilot tested with the US Government’s Global Hunger & Food Security Initiative Feed the Future Uganda Inclusive Agriculture Markets (IAM) activity. Lessons learnt can be found in this brief. Additionally, a reading list of resources and other tools and worksheets developed to accompany the toolkit can be found here.
